Her Interview

Ten minutes with Tamarah

01What do you attribute your success to?

My kids, and surviving my own trauma to write my own story. I want them to know that her story didn't write my story. I also helped my mom turn her life around, convincing her to get off government aid and start working.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

The job is gonna be hard, the journey is gonna get hard. But always keep with you that there's always somebody gonna be looking up to them, and keep with them where would these children be if they didn't do what they do.

03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Challenges: politics, drama, needing to be liked to move up, blackballing, work-life balance. Opportunities: growth, improving parent visits with interactive settings like trampoline parks.

04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Morals, cultural competency, checking your biases, and family. I value family, I'm super family-oriented.
