Her Story

About Tameca

Tameca BOSTON has spent about 20 years in the financial industry, where she currently leads back-end mortgage processing and underwriting for mortgage loans. She began her path considering real estate sales but transitioned to the operational side after realizing her preference for steady work over sales. In addition to her core mortgage expertise, Tameca has handled HR responsibilities and built high-performing teams through her strengths in leading people, mentoring, and upskilling others. She earned a bachelor's degree in counseling with a focus on marriage counseling, which she applies daily in corporate settings by counseling colleagues to improve performance and develop skills. Tameca also holds certifications as a post-natal doula and a master level certified life coach. She attributes her success to daily prayer and the ability to meet people where they are by understanding their individual stories and goals. Tameca advises young women entering the industry to seek multiple mentors, step outside their comfort zones, and maintain a cycle of both receiving and providing mentorship.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Tameca

01What do you attribute your success to?

I pray every day. What I've learned is to meet people where they're at. Everybody is different, everybody has a story. If you find their little red boat, you can get people to perform in ways they never were before, because you know what their goal is and you can relate to it.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Get a multitude of mentors, one to three, where they can bounce things off, learn, and navigate better. You don't have to create the wheel, you just gotta know how the wheel works. Don't be afraid to go out of your comfort zone. You should always have a cycle of mentorship, meaning you're mentoring somebody and then somebody's pouring into you.
