Her Story

About Tameka

Tameka Beasley is a creative designer, business owner, and administrative professional. She is the founder of Beasley’s Creations, a purpose-driven creative brand dedicated to storytelling, healing, and representation through thoughtfully designed coloring books and custom print products. Her work focuses on creating meaningful, educational, and emotionally supportive resources for children, families, educators, and communities.

Her creative journey is deeply personal. Tameka creates coloring books centered on healing, grief, autism support, and keepsake collections that preserve meaningful life experiences. Her first coloring book was a grief-focused project created after the passing of her mother, transforming personal loss into a source of comfort and healing for others walking similar paths. Through her publishing work on Amazon and her independent brand, she continues to develop resources that encourage emotional expression, learning, and connection.

In addition to her creative business, Tameka owns Beasley Solutions, a tax and financial services business she has operated for approximately seven years. She also works full-time as a front office administrator within the school system, where she supports daily operations, communication, and organizational needs. She brings over two decades of professional experience across administrative support, customer service, and business operations. Tameka holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Management from Strayer University and is committed to blending creativity, entrepreneurship, and service to make a lasting impact in her community.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Tameka

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success first and foremost to my faith in God, which has been my foundation and source of strength throughout my journey. I also owe a great deal to my mother, who was one of the hardest-working and most dedicated individuals I have ever known. Her example of resilience, discipline, and perseverance shaped my work ethic and continues to inspire me to stay committed, push through challenges, and pursue excellence in everything I do.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I have ever received is to never allow setbacks or failures to discourage me. When something does not go as planned, I have learned not to stop, but instead to use those moments as motivation to reflect, adjust, and improve. Challenges are opportunities for growth, and each experience can be used to refine my approach and ultimately create something better and more successful.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering my industry is to stay dedicated, stay focused, and remain open to new opportunities as they arise. Be receptive to constructive criticism, as it is an important part of growth and professional development. Most importantly, approach your work with passion and a willingness to learn. Staying open-minded and committed will help you navigate challenges and build a strong, successful career.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The biggest challenges in my field right now are primarily financial, especially when it comes to the rising costs associated with producing and promoting creative work. For example, vendor fees and event-related expenses can be very high and sometimes comparable to major fixed costs, which can make it difficult for small business owners to scale and participate consistently. At the same time, there are strong opportunities in digital publishing and online platforms, which allow me to reach a wider audience through Amazon and other digital storefronts. Social media and community-based marketing also continue to create meaningful opportunities for visibility, connection, and growth for creative entrepreneurs.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that are most important to me in both my work and personal life are loyalty, trustworthiness, and transparency. I believe strong relationships are built on mutual trust and consistency, and it is important to be dependable and honest in all interactions. Being transparent allows for clear communication and understanding, which helps foster respect, integrity, and long-lasting personal and professional relationships.
