Tami Reiss is a leadership speaker, executive coach, and product strategy expert known for helping professionals strengthen their influence, communication, and executive presence. Based in Miami, she has built a career spanning more than two decades in technology, product management, and organizational leadership. Throughout her career, she has held roles ranging from product manager to chief product officer in residence for a venture capital firm, consultant, and CEO of a consultancy. Her experience working with major organizations such as Microsoft, Walmart, and JPMorgan shaped her expertise in strategy leadership and product innovation. She later founded Leader Within, where she focuses on empowering leaders to maximize impact through influence and communication.

A graduate of University of California, Los Angeles with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physiology, Tami combined her analytical background with her passion for leadership development. Over time, she transitioned from corporate product leadership into executive coaching, where she recognized that many talented professionals lacked the influence and political capital needed to advance their ideas and careers. This realization inspired her to create leadership frameworks such as L.E.A.D. and M.A.P. It Out, designed to help leaders communicate vision, build alignment, and drive strategic transformation. She has since become a sought-after keynote speaker and trainer, delivering workshops and presentations on topics including executive presence, stakeholder management, strategic influence, and team leadership. Her work with organizations such as Women In Product, Northwestern University - Kellogg School of Management, and Wharton Executive Education further established her reputation as an influential leadership educator.

Beyond coaching and corporate training, Tami is also an author, content creator, and advocate for accessible leadership education. She wrote Unleash Your L.E.A.D.er Within and is developing What Do Product Managers Do?, one of the first illustrated children’s books introducing product management concepts to younger audiences. Through blogs, newsletters, podcasts, videos, and AI-driven coaching tools, she shares practical insights on communication, confidence, and leadership growth. Her mission centers on teaching professionals that leadership is not defined by titles, but by the ability to inspire action, create alignment, and positively influence others.

Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to tenacity and being a nice person. I believe in the long game and in karma, so I am generous with my time, and I believe that at some point, it gets paid back.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I've ever received is to remember that the success of any initiative is a result of not only it being a good idea, but also the amount of buy-in you get from the other people who are working on it.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Be kind and respectful to everyone, you never know who they are or who they could be in the future. I believe in the long game, so treating people well matters because you never know who someone is.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

A lot of corporations are reducing, if not completely slashing, budgets for learning and development. That means that companies are not investing in their people, and so they can't invest in bringing me in to help their people. The L&D professionals feel that most.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Authenticity is most important to me, along with democratization of knowledge. I also value international multiculturalism - respecting that everyone is different and that there's greatness to our diversity.
