Her Interview
Ten minutes with Tamia
01What do you attribute your success to?
My mantra is one youth at a time. I am an advocate for Detroit, the city that I was born and raised in. So that is what I attribute everything to, like, just trying to make sure that I'm consistently pouring back into a city that raised me.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would say stay grounded and what matters most to you. Especially in nonprofit, this is not always the most glamorous work. It takes a lot out of you. But one thing that always makes me excited to get up and go to work is that I am impacting lives. The work that I do actually matters, and without me being dedicated to the mission, you know, I wouldn't be able to impact the lives that I can.
