Tamika L. Jones
Tamika leverages her extensive background in nutrition, maternal-child health, and community engagement. With over 20 years of experience and a bachelor’s degree in nutrition from Southern University and A&M College, her unwavering commitment is focused on reducing maternal and infant mortality in Louisiana—especially among African American women. She draws from her nutrition expertise to guide women on health-related matters and advocate for their needs within healthcare spaces.
As a doula, childbirth educator, and child passenger safety technician, Tamika provides birthing women with evidence-based education, tools, and personalized emotional and physical support to promote safe, positive, and empowered experiences throughout pregnancy, birth, and beyond.
In addition to her professional accomplishments, Tamika holds certifications in Adult and Youth Mental Health First Aid.
As a birth worker, she continues to expand her impact through entrepreneurial venture as the owner and founder of Timeless Love Journey Doula LLC. Passionate about fostering healthy communities, she combines her expertise, compassion, and advocacy to create meaningful change in the lives of those she serves.

What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to the unwavering support of my family and my significant other. Their encouragement and belief in me have been fundamental in helping me reach my goals and overcome challenges.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve ever received is to always give yourself grace. Recognizing that growth and success takes time has helped me stay patient with myself and maintain resilience through challenges.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering this industry is simple: don’t give up, no matter the challenges. Surround yourself with like-minded, supportive people who inspire you to grow, and you’ll find both encouragement and opportunity along the way.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in my field right now is finding clients and effectively getting the word out about the services I offer. Additionally, navigating Medicaid and various insurance requirements in the state of Louisiana presents a complex, but important aspect of my work. At the same time, these challenges create opportunities to develop stronger outreach strategies, build a trusted reputation, and become more knowledgeable in healthcare regulations, ultimately enhancing the quality and reach of the services provided.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that are most important to me in both my work and personal life are honesty, trustworthiness, and compassion. I strive to uphold strong work ethics and integrity in everything I do, ensuring that my actions reflect reliability, respect, and genuine care for others.
