Her Interview
Ten minutes with Tamika
01What do you attribute your success to?
I contribute my success to helpful people and the opportunities that I was afforded by managers and leaders who really wanted me to succeed and grow. My current leader provided a security net allowing me to explore teaching and return if needed.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Take the chance. If you don't take the chance, you'll never know what if. You don't want to have any regrets. Never burn your bridges and keep the line of communication open.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Don't think that you don't have a seat at the table. When you look around the table, you might not see people that represent you, but that does not mean that you are not made to be at that table. Always make sure that you say, can you guys scoot down because I'm taking a seat at this table.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest challenge is that the market is so saturated with ServiceNow professionals looking for roles due to major layoffs. Opportunities include ServiceNow administrator, developer, consultant, and business analyst roles.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Definitely loyalty and respect. Treat people how you want to be treated. Never look down on anyone. Be a genuine good person and authentic. If you are your genuine self, people are going to be genuine back to you.
