About Tammara
She is a seasoned benefits and human resources executive with over 15 years of experience leading compensation, benefits, workforce strategy, and corporate governance across large-scale healthcare, energy, and service organizations. Currently serving as Director of Benefits at Texas Children's Hospital, she leads comprehensive benefits administration for approximately 17,000 team members across health and welfare, retirement, work-life, leave of absence, and physician compensation functions. She advises senior leadership and facilitates governance through Benefits, Pension, and Physician Compensation Executive Steering Committees. Notable accomplishments include delivering $10M in annual vendor savings through a Pharmacy Benefit Manager RFP, supporting an estimated $99M in plan cost avoidance, and expanding Paid Parental Benefits. Prior to this role, she spent over 11 years at Petrobras in progressively senior roles, including Corporate Support Department Manager, Human Resources Area Manager, and Compensation & Benefits Supervisor, where she shaped corporate strategy, led compensation architecture design, managed union negotiations, and supported board-level governance as Corporate Secretary. She also served as Benefits Manager at ABM Industries, overseeing benefits operations for more than 100,000 employees. She holds an MBA from LeTourneau University and a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from the University of Houston-Downtown. She is recognized as a strategic, results-driven, and people-centered leader who combines deep benefits expertise with strong governance and operational skills to drive organizational success and employee well-being.
