As a Purchasing Buyer at Echo Electric, she oversees procurement and inventory operations supporting approximately 25 branches. Her responsibilities include managing stock levels, coordinating customer back orders, handling pricing, and ensuring efficient order fulfillment. With a career built on strong communication, vendor relationships, and operational expertise, Tammi plays an essential role in helping teams deliver reliable service and customer satisfaction.

Tammi began her professional journey in bookkeeping and accounting before transitioning into purchasing, where she discovered her passion for procurement and supply chain operations. She earned her business degree after attending community college and attributes her long-term success to hard work, dedication, follow-through, and genuinely enjoying what she does. Throughout her career, she has embraced the importance of relationship-building, teamwork, and staying true to herself, while encouraging young women entering traditionally male-dominated industries to be confident, ambitious, and persistent in pursuing their goals.

Beyond her professional achievements, Tammi is deeply committed to leadership and community involvement. She serves as a National Director for the American Quarter Horse Association and is currently serving her third term as President of the Iowa Quarter Horse Association, where she contributes to committees and supports the success of horse shows and members. Through both her career and volunteer work, Tammi demonstrates a dedication to service, leadership, and building strong connections with the people and communities around her.

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to hard work, dedication, and consistently following through on my commitments. I believe that staying focused, putting in the effort, and maintaining a strong passion for what I do have been key factors in achieving my goals and continuing to grow professionally.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I have received is to lead both in and out of the office. Every decision should reflect what is best for teammates, customers, and personal growth. The results come from the choices and effort we put in.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering the industry is to stand their ground, stay true to themselves, and build the ambition and drive needed to succeed. Believe in your abilities, pursue your goals with confidence, and continue pushing forward.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

I see every day as an opportunity to learn, grow, and connect with new people. With 25 different branches, I have the chance to meet and build relationships with individuals I may not work with every day. Getting to know the people behind the organization is one of the greatest benefits and opportunities in my field.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values most important to me are honesty, empathy, communication, and staying true to myself. I believe strong relationships are built through genuine connections and good social skills. Most importantly, I believe that loving what you do is what makes success meaningful.
