Her Story
About Tammi
I have over 35 years in the industry making women feel beautiful through nails and related services. After working in retail upper management and customer service roles like at Alorica, I opened my own full-service nail salon about 15 years ago. I specialize in design work and acrylic sets, and I participated in a Bonner Brothers hair show where I was first runner-up in 2015. I value honesty, integrity, and being prepared, and I love gardening in my spare time.

I attribute my success to being a planner and being prepared for whatever is going to happen. I also attribute it to loving what I do and loving to make women feel beautiful.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I ever received is to love what you do, and that way it'll never feel like work to you.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Give yourself some grace. Give yourself some time. You're not gonna go right in making money, but if you stick to it, it's going to be profitable and lucrative, and it's a rewarding career.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
There is an active boycott opening more doors for women of color to enter the market. It is becoming a lucrative industry if they apply themselves and get the necessary education. It is opening up for everybody now.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Honesty and integrity and trust. Treat people how you want to be treated.
