About Tammy
I'm in the process of publishing my first book titled 'A Woman That You're Meant to Be,' which contains 13 steps on how I became a confident woman and found the courage to pursue my dreams. The reason I wrote this book is because I've had a lot of growth these past few years, and people come to me all the time telling me how different I am, how much I've changed and grown, and how much more confident I've become. I sat with that for a little bit and decided to really reflect on what it is that I did, and that's when I decided to write the book. I've always loved inspiring and motivating others - with my friends, I'm always a cheerleader. I definitely wanted to be in that field of motivating others and pushing people to become the best version of themselves, but I didn't know how to go about it. When people see your growth, they start trusting you and asking you for advice, so it becomes easier when you have something to show for. My next goal is to become a speaker and book speaking gigs to talk about my story. I'm also an actress and recently appeared in a TV show that's still in production, which I continue doing on the side. I've worked in sales for a long time, including at a bank and an insurance company, and I currently work from home in sales with appointments throughout the day. I also have a clothing store called Blossom by Tammy Deno that I'm finishing up and haven't launched yet, but I'm in the process of launching. I have a degree in business, and while that's helpful, I believe the best way to learn business is to open a business yourself and do it in real time with your own money.

Ten minutes with Tammy
01What do you attribute your success to?
I would say letting go of fear and limiting beliefs and doubt that was holding me back from living my best life has made such a huge impact on my life. Now I have the courage to go after other dreams that I thought were impossible. A few years ago, I definitely took my life from negative to positive when I started listening to Tony Robbins and going to events with Margarita Pasos, who is Latina. These people influenced my life and changed my life because I learned not to beat yourself up for the mistakes you made in the past, but to use those mistakes as lessons and learn from them to keep moving forward. Don't stay stuck in the past because there's nothing you can do about it - use what you have and go forward with what you have.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would say just do it, don't overthink it, believe in yourself, because you are enough. Even if you don't have all the answers today, you'll figure it out along the way. In entrepreneurship, I think it's so important to take the first step, and of course you want to be mindful and spend your money wisely, but just do it. I've seen so many people with so many ideas on businesses saying 'Oh, I don't have the money,' but you know what, start small. If you truly believe in your dreams, get a loan, get a second job and save some money, do something. Don't get stuck in that 'I don't have any money, I can't start a business' mindset, because you don't need a lot of money to start a business. You need passion, you need purpose, you need determination.
