About Tammy
Tammy Milsap serves as Office Manager for her husband’s construction remodeling business in Abilene, Texas, where she oversees key administrative functions, including accounts payable management for more than 11 users and customer service support for over 15 users. With expertise in business operations, financial administration, and client relations, she plays an integral role in maintaining efficient processes, managing priorities, and supporting the overall success of the organization.
Tammy recently earned her Associate of Science in Business Administration from Generations College, completing her degree as a full-time student while balancing family responsibilities with raising her twin daughters. Her academic achievements include recognition on the President’s List and Dean’s List, as well as induction into the Alpha Beta Gamma Honor Society and Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. Her educational journey strengthened her skills in leadership, critical thinking, time management, and business management.
Prior to her current role, Tammy gained extensive experience in customer service, administrative support, and management, including four years as an Assistant Manager at a family-owned Mexican restaurant bakery and providing customer service assistance for her daughter’s business in Oklahoma. She attributes her success to the strong values instilled by her parents, who encouraged her to pursue her goals with perseverance, confidence, and determination. Tammy is currently focused on reentering the accounts payable field, where she aims to leverage her financial expertise, organizational skills, and dedication to delivering exceptional service and operational excellence.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to the strong foundation my parents provided me. They instilled in me the belief that I am capable of achieving anything I set my mind to and taught me the importance of perseverance, determination, and resilience. Their encouragement and unwavering support have inspired me to overcome challenges, pursue my goals with confidence, and never give up, even when faced with obstacles.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I have ever received is to never give up and to always believe in myself. This guidance has reminded me to remain resilient, embrace challenges as opportunities for growth, and trust in my abilities throughout my professional journey. By maintaining confidence, determination, and perseverance, I have been able to continue moving forward and pursue my goals with purpose.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering my industry is to stay focused on their goals, remain committed to continuous growth, and trust the path they are building. Challenges are a natural part of any career journey, but maintaining determination, confidence, and a clear vision will help them overcome obstacles and achieve long-term success.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges I have faced in my field has been reentering the Accounts Payable industry after taking time away to complete my education. While returning to the workforce has presented some challenges, I view it as an opportunity to apply my updated knowledge, continue developing my skills, and bring renewed dedication and commitment to my career. I remain focused on leveraging my experience and education to successfully transition back into the field.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that are most important to me in both my work and personal life are honesty, strong communication, and the ability to make a positive first impression. I believe that building trust through transparency, listening effectively, and treating others with respect creates strong relationships and successful outcomes. Maintaining professionalism and genuine connections with others are principles I strive to carry with me in every aspect of my life.
