About Tammy

Tammy Robinson has over 21 years of experience with Engaging Solutions, where she has built a career focused on executive leadership in community development and population health. Her work emphasizes addressing social determinants of health to improve outcomes related to diabetes and other population health components. She first came to Indiana as a graduate student at Ball State University, where she benefited from the mentorship of Dr. Linda, who helped her bring her goals to fruition. Robinson is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated, through which she participates in community outreach initiatives such as packing grocery bags and providing toys for children at Christmas. She also serves as past president of NABO, continuing to support new members and directors in shaping their visions. Robinson attributes her success to remaining authentically true to herself, guided by core values of integrity, empathy, authenticity, gratitude, open-mindedness, responsibility, compassion, fairness, and a commitment to lifelong learning. She advises women entering the field to collaborate rather than operate in isolation and values connecting with people to help them on their journeys while fostering collaborative efforts.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Tammy

01What do you attribute your success to?

I think one of the things that's most important is a quote that I had one time that was, to thine own self be true. ... it's important, to be authentically who you are. ... I do stand on, you know, core values, you know, integrity, empathy, authenticity, gratitude, open-mindedness, ... Taking responsibility, ... Compassion, fairness, and then I'm, like, one of those lifelong learners.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I think that it's important to collaborate. Sometimes we operate as a island of one, but it's really good to be able to come together as women, and also, men that are, supporting us in the work that we do.

03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

When I think about, my core values, people are a core value for me, because I love connecting, with people, and being able to help them in the journey that they are on, while also at the same time, being able to work collaboratively, with one another to be able to bring new fruits and seeds that are going into the ground.
