Her Interview
Ten minutes with Tanika
01What do you attribute your success to?
God was first, because without Him, I wouldn't have got over the hump. And being a mom, it really... I was like, I want to leave him something when I leave this world. I want him to have something that's his. So, really, God and my son.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Go through healing first. In order to be an effective therapist, you have to go through therapy yourself. That's how you can weed out your biases, and you can weed out triggers. Because in this field, we will hear stories, and it'll trigger you if you're not healed from something.
03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Keep God first. And just stay true to who you are, and lean on your village, because my family, my village, they're very important in this journey, especially if you're a mom. You're trying to navigate starting a business, you need that village to help.
