About Tanisha
Tanisha Tate serves as Corporate Relations Manager in Richmond, Virginia, where she has spent the past two years developing community partnerships with local high schools to provide students with paid internship opportunities that supplement their tuition. With five years in the field, she previously worked in government victim services for four years under a director who encouraged her growth, as well as in nonprofit and educational settings serving diverse populations including those in the prison system and unhoused individuals. In January 2022, Tate founded the Phenomena Collective, a platform dedicated to leadership development for women through curriculum and cohorts focused on emotional intelligence, confidence, and community building. She also launched an annual conference called Planted in Purpose, Power, and Prosperity to bring women together for connection and growth. Tate draws from her experiences across multiple industries to help women navigate leadership roles with greater confidence and skill.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Don't make the trip and miss the journey. Business can be hard, but there is so much joy and growth in the journey that we sometimes miss, because we're just trying to build the bigger thing. That is where you build the best practices, foundations, communities, and leadership that you would need to sustain way beyond the years that you may set for yourself.
