Her Interview
Ten minutes with Tanvi
01What do you attribute your success to?
I owe my success to my family. My parents always encouraged my decision to pursue chemical engineering from the very beginning, and their support has carried me throughout my career. Today, my husband and my son continue to be the backbone of my professional journey—stepping in, cheering me on, and making it possible for me to grow. Everything I’ve achieved is rooted in their support.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve ever received is to keep “connecting the dots” and stay open to where your path can lead. You begin with your academic foundation, but the real journey is about continually seeking work that lets you create meaningful impact. When you look beyond the boundaries of a job description and ask how your skills can serve something bigger, you discover opportunities to contribute to your community and shape the world through your work.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Stay curious, stay confident, and take on challenges that stretch you. Build a solid technical foundation, keep learning, and look for opportunities where your work can create real impact. Surround yourself with mentors and peers who support your growth, and trust that your perspective brings value to this industry’s future.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that guide me, both in my work and in my personal life, are sincerity, integrity, confidence, and genuine dedication to what I do. I believe that when you approach your work with honesty, commitment, and real passion, everything else follows. These principles shape how I show up every day — as an engineer, a teammate, and a person.
