About Tanya
Tanya Anderson is a Design Consultant at Renewal by Andersen in Maple Grove, Minnesota, specializing in residential home improvement sales, consultative design, customer relationships, and homeowner experience. In her role, she meets with homeowners in their homes, listens carefully to their needs, concerns, goals, and budgets, and recommends customized window, patio door, and entry door solutions. She guides customers through product selections, design options, demonstrations, measurements, pricing, financing, contracts, and the overall transition from sale to installation, while maintaining a professional and service-oriented approach.
Anderson brings approximately nine years of overall sales experience to her current position. Before joining Renewal by Andersen, she worked as a Sales Consultant with Lupient Automotive Group and as a self-employed Sales Representative with US Bath Systems. Her earlier service-industry experience in high-volume establishments in downtown Minneapolis helped develop her ability to build rapport with people from a wide range of backgrounds and personalities. She credits her success to perseverance, consistency, resilience, strong customer relationships, and the determination to keep moving forward when circumstances become challenging. She also identifies her brother-in-law, Ross Hunter, as an important mentor who recognized her potential and encouraged her transition into professional sales.
Throughout her career at Renewal by Andersen, Anderson has been recognized through annual qualification for the Top Performers Conclave, based on sales volume and customer survey performance, and has received the Signature Service Award for providing a premier homeowner experience. She believes that persistence, family, service, personal growth, and reliability are central to both her professional and personal life. As a mother of three sons, she places particular importance on being a positive example for her children. Her approach to sales emphasizes understanding the customer, providing solutions aligned with their needs and budget, building trust, and maintaining strong relationships throughout and beyond the project.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to perseverance, consistency, strong customer relationships, and resilience. My service-industry background taught me how to connect with many different personalities and understand the importance of creating a positive experience for every customer. I have learned to remain persistent and refuse to give up when circumstances become difficult.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
My brother-in-law, Ross Hunter, recognized my potential and encouraged me to transition from the bar industry into sales. He helped me get my foot in the door at Renewal by Andersen and gave me the opportunity to pursue a new career path.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would encourage young women to keep trying and never give up. Even when things become difficult, it is important to remain persistent and trust that things will ultimately work out the way they are supposed to.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The economy and rising costs are significant challenges in residential home improvement sales. Financial uncertainty can make homeowners more hesitant to make purchasing decisions, which has made it more difficult to close sales during the initial consultation compared with previous years.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that are most important to me are perseverance, family, resilience, service, personal growth, and being someone others can depend on. One of my greatest priorities is being a positive example for my three sons and demonstrating through my actions the importance of persistence, responsibility, and personal growth.
