Her Interview
Ten minutes with Tanya
01What do you attribute your success to?
I think probably just being really in the environment and handling the day-to-day situations that come up, the monthly situations that come up, because then you gain an experience. You get, you make relationships with the people that you work with, which enhances your position because of the data that you learn back and forth, and being able to have a broader picture so that it'll help you to make the better decisions within the environment that you're working in.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
I have also been fortunate to have mentors throughout my career who taught me valuable lessons—not just about technology, but about business, leadership and navigating professional challenges.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
The advice would be to be flexible and open to the changes that come, because it's always changing.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
To work to my best, to do the best I can at all times. What I do produce is with integrity, so I'm gonna give you the truth, whether it feels good or not. I'm going to do the best that I can to make sure that the deliverables are met and on time. And if they aren't, to understand what caused it and what the risks are when we make certain decisions about dates and times and when things are due, to make sure to keep the customer forefront.
