Her Story
About Tara
As CEO, my job is really the strategic vision. I am responsible for the strategic growth, and that really means working alongside our firm's management board and our partners to evaluate all types of strategy - whether that's our financial strategy and how we pivot there, whether that's our growth strategy and looking at different markets, different verticals within the practice areas that we serve, whether we're looking at geographic strategy, so how do we expand our footprint if that's something that we want to do. I also lead and spearhead our AI initiative. I created our firm's AI task force, working alongside that group of attorneys and other directors to analyze and implement AI within our firm. In addition to that, I really kind of oversee all of our business operations. I have directors under me in our marketing, accounting, business development, operations, HR, and so they kind of run the day-to-day of each of those departments, but I oversee them and help them with strategy and very high-level executive thinking and processing.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
The world needs them exactly as they are. They are going to be the most successful when they embrace what makes them unique and authentic. They will find a place at the table that will embrace that, and if they're sitting at a table that doesn't, it's the wrong table. The other thing that I tell my girls all the time is that glass is made for breaking. Whatever limitations they think exist, they don't. Those are limitations that we've put in our mind that are really just boxes meant to confine people, because sometimes it's easier to think small because it's not scary. So yeah, just authenticity, bring themselves, find the right table, and work hard, right? None of this comes easy, and if you're willing to work hard and be authentic and bring yourself, you'll make it. You'll be fine.
02What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Authenticity is huge for me. I think being trustworthy is critical. I think just being a good human - that's really what it comes down to.
