Her Story
About Tara
I have always believed that leadership isn't defined by a title—it's earned through consistency, accountability, and the willingness to solve problems others avoid.
Over the past 20 years, I've built my career by learning every aspect of the businesses I've worked in. From customer service and accounting to permitting, estimating, scheduling, project management, and business operations, I've never been satisfied with knowing only my own responsibilities. Understanding how every piece fits together has allowed me to become a stronger leader and a better resource for both my clients and my teams.
Founding Linea Consulting was a natural extension of that philosophy.
My goal is simple: help construction professionals streamline operations, strengthen relationships, and create systems that allow their businesses to grow without sacrificing integrity or quality.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to curiosity, resilience, and accountability.
I've never been afraid to admit when I don't know something. Instead, I learn it.
Throughout my career, I've intentionally stepped outside my comfort zone, asked questions, sought mentors, and embraced every opportunity to expand my knowledge. That willingness to continuously learn has allowed me to build expertise across multiple disciplines and confidently solve complex problems.
Equally important is accountability. I believe trust is built by following through on commitments, communicating honestly, and taking ownership—especially when things don't go as planned. Those principles have helped me build lasting professional relationships that continue years after projects have ended.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Never stop learning.
Titles can be given, but knowledge is earned. Every new skill you develop becomes something no one can take away from you. Remaining curious has opened doors throughout my career that I never expected and continues to shape the direction of my business today.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Don't underestimate the value of your voice or your perspective.
You don't have to know everything before taking the next step. Confidence grows through experience, not before it. Ask questions, remain teachable, build genuine relationships, and let your integrity become your reputation. The respect you earn through consistency will always outlast the need to prove yourself.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The construction industry is at an interesting turning point. While it has historically been relationship-driven and male-dominated, the increasing complexity of projects is shifting the focus toward performance, organization, and effective leadership.
There is a growing opportunity for professionals who bring a disciplined, detail-oriented approach to project management—ensuring timelines, budgets, and communication are executed at a high level. As expectations continue to rise, particularly in high-end residential and commercial markets, the ability to manage projects efficiently has become just as critical as technical expertise.
This shift is creating space for a broader range of leadership styles, and those who can consistently deliver results are helping redefine what strong leadership in construction looks like today.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that guide me in both my work and personal life are integrity, honesty, authenticity, kindness, and accountability. I believe in being genuine, treating people with respect, and following through on my commitments, even when no one is watching. To me, success isn't measured solely by what you accomplish, but by the way you make people feel and the trust you build along the way.
Outside of work, I find balance through photography, spending time with my children, and helping others whenever I can. Being in nature reminds me to slow down, appreciate the details, and stay present. Those quiet moments recharge me and influence the way I approach both my life and my work—with patience, curiosity, and gratitude.
