About Tara

Tara Mollo serves as Assistant Principal at an elementary school in Rhode Island. With more than 20 years in education, including six years at Head Start and 14 years in public schools, she began her career working with children and developed a passion for making a difference in their lives. After earning an associate's and bachelor's degree in early childhood education from CCRI and URI respectively, she transitioned to the public school system where she took on leadership roles such as mentoring new teachers, serving on the district behavior team, and contributing to curriculum efforts. These experiences led her to pursue further education, including a master's in literacy education as a reading specialist from Roger Williams University, MLL certification, and an administration certification through the Principal Residency Network Program with CLEE. She is currently working on her doctorate in educational leadership at Johnson and Wales University, with a projected graduation in May 2027. Her primary expertise lies in restorative practice, focusing on helping students acknowledge and repair harm from conflict, which is also the subject of her dissertation. Tara is a member of the Rhode Island Association for School Principals and has volunteered as a DonorsChoose building point person while supporting the Rhode Island Association for Animals. She credits her success to the unwavering support of her family and advises others to never give up on their dreams.
