Her Interview

Ten minutes with Tara

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to my parents and family. I was raised in a family of hard workers with drive. I grew up watching them work their butts off to have what they have, and employers have always commented on my work ethic.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I received is from my mother: no one can take away your education. Knowledge is power, and it's important to continue education and develop new skills.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I advise women to invest in education and master multitasking, especially since everything evolves rapidly. My ability comes from juggling motherhood, two jobs, and grad school.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The industry is male-dominated in telecom and energy, but I've built credibility so clients now reach out to me directly. Opportunities include free webinars and training for continuous learning. My challenge is perfectionism.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Trust and loyalty are most important. Clients trust me with compliance and regulatory matters that can have significant consequences. I value being loyal and trustworthy, and my closest friends since elementary and middle school share these values.
