Tara Saviet is the Manager of HR, Talent Acquisition, and Workforce Planning at California State University, where she has served for 3 years and 6 months. With a total of 10 years in human resources, Tara began her career at Toys R Us as an HR representative before returning to school as a first-generation college graduate. She earned two bachelor's degrees in HR and Business Management from Cal State University of Dominguez Hills. Tara's expertise centers on talent acquisition, workforce planning, employee relations, and fostering cultural representation through employee resource groups. She spearheaded the launch of employee resource group communities after a 3-year effort, drawing from her own inclusive campus experience to improve morale and inclusivity at the Chancellor's Office. Tara is actively involved with the Black Staff Association, which she has supported for 5 years as a catalyst for broader ERG initiatives. She attributes her success to strong integrity and leading by example, while valuing honesty, hard work, and commitments. Tara advises young women entering the field to be courageous in influencing change and to let their ideas flow freely. She is set to receive her 20-year service award from the Cal State University system in October.
