Her Story
About Tara
Tara Wiedemann has about five years of professional experience in program management, data analysis, and public policy. She earned her bachelor's degree in law, economics, and public policy with a double major and a minor in human rights, followed by a master's in public policy that she completed in one year while working full time at a nonprofit. Her career path includes working at law firms, serving as a program manager at a nonprofit, advancing to regional program manager overseeing five counties, transitioning to a data team where she taught herself data analysis and visualization with Power BI and Tableau, and later working at two nonprofits in San Francisco on the development side. After being laid off, she returned to Seattle and during a career break launched her own e-commerce business. She is also actively involved in Iranian human rights advocacy, including the Woman Life Freedom movement, and has worked with a local nonprofit showcasing Iranian art and poetry, which led to a sponsored trip to Washington, D.C. for policy work.
