Her Story
About Taryn
Taryn Praytor is a senior project manager in the managed service provider space in the technology industry, where she has worked since April. With more than 10 years of experience in IT project management, she oversees projects for 25 to 35 customers at a time across 40 different project types. In her role, Taryn partners with customers to understand their businesses, goals, and project objectives, then communicates these details to internal delivery teams to plan step-by-step execution, allocate time and workload, and keep projects on track. Her career began as an executive assistant before she transitioned into project management, advancing into leadership, product owner, and delivery manager roles where she led people both indirectly and directly while tying daily tasks to career goals. Taryn is motivated by the emotional intelligence required to tailor communications and meet people where they are, and she has grown significantly in this area while teaching others its value without needing formal credentials. She maintains firm boundaries, including dedicated evening hours for her three children and supporting her husband in leading their home.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Don't sell yourself short. Early in my career, I sold myself short, and I doubted myself way more than I should. A trusted mentor told me I belong here and at this table, to speak up with questions and solutions. My career trajectory and confidence shifted after that, and I want the same for others - just don't sell yourself short, throw your ideas out there, and don't stop trying.
