Her Story

About Tasha

I am a community services professional, entrepreneur, and advocate with a deep commitment to supporting families, individuals, and communities in crisis, currently serving as Program Coordinator at the Family Community Resource Center, a role I have held since September 2021, where I coordinate programs and services that support families and individuals in crisis, lead outreach initiatives and strengthen community partnerships, provide client advocacy and resource navigation, and oversee program operations and staff development.

I am also the Founder of Professionally U Project and Beauty NU Boutique, a self-employed role I have held since December 2011, where I have built businesses focused on professional development and beauty and wellness products. I serve as an Interventionist at Thelma Ellis Therapeutic Services, a contract role I have held since August 2018, where I provide intervention services focused on behavioral support and personal development, support clients with communication skills and confidence-building, and promote positive coping strategies and healthy decision-making.

Prior to these roles, I served as Continuing Education Instructor at Heartland Community College for over a year, where I developed and taught continuing education courses for adults and community members in cooking, shea butters, body scrubs, and entrepreneurship topics, and facilitated domestic violence awareness training for organizations. I also served as a Child Welfare Family Enhancement Specialist at the Family Resource and Referral Center for nearly two years.

Across my career in community services, entrepreneurship, education, and advocacy, my work has been driven by a commitment to empowering individuals and families, building stronger communities, and creating pathways to self-sufficiency and well-being. Whether I am coordinating programs for families in crisis, teaching entrepreneurship and wellness courses, or providing intervention services, I bring a compassionate, client-centered approach and a dedication to making a lasting positive impact. I am proud of the work I have done throughout my career and excited to continue serving my community through my work at the Family Community Resource Center and beyond.

This is not for the weak at heart. There is no glory in the work that we do. But if you have a heart to serve, this would be the right place to be in.
