Her Story
About Tasha
Dr. Tasha Dickerson, MD, is a board-certified family medicine physician with more than 21 years of experience dedicated to providing compassionate, personalized care. Her passion for medicine began at an early age—at just three or four years old, she asked for a doctor’s bag for Christmas, unknowingly planting the seed for a lifelong calling. Her father kept that original red plastic medical bag and returned it to her when she graduated from medical school, a powerful reminder of the journey she had always been meant to take. After initially considering pediatrics, Dr. Dickerson discovered that family medicine allowed her to care for children while also supporting patients through every stage of life, from adolescence to adulthood and beyond. Throughout much of her career, Dr. Dickerson practiced as a true community family physician, caring for generations of families and building deep, lasting relationships with her patients. She became the doctor who treated the same families over decades—caring for parents, their children, and extended family members while becoming a trusted presence in the community. After years in traditional practice, she transitioned into concierge medicine, where she found the ability to spend more time with patients and integrate functional medicine principles alongside primary care. Today, she provides a more personalized approach through same-day visits, wellness coaching, and individualized treatment plans, seeing approximately eight patients per day and focusing on patients who are seeking a more comprehensive view of their health. Dr. Dickerson’s current practice has a special focus on women’s health, particularly supporting women navigating perimenopause and menopause in their 40s, 50s, and 60s. She is passionate about helping patients explore options beyond simply managing symptoms and believes in understanding the full picture of each person’s health. In addition to her medical practice, she is a podcast host of the Part 2 Podcast, where she highlights women who have embraced career changes and new chapters, and she is the CEO/ Founder of EVIN SKINCARE Rx currently developing products designed to support women experiencing burnout and stress. Her message to the next generation of women in medicine is simple: pursue your goals, but remember to live along the way. Dr. Dickerson continues to redefine what it means to be a physician—combining medicine, entrepreneurship, advocacy, and a commitment to empowering others.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I tell women, don't forget to live. I think sometimes we have a lot of delayed gratification in medicine - it's like a whole lot of 'when you finish this, you can do that. When you finish this step, you can do that.' Don't forget to live even in the midst of the process. Especially for females in this field, we wait to have a family, we wait to maybe even get married, we wait to buy things because we have to save for something else. There's a lot of delayed gratification. I say, as best you can, live now. Make sure you enjoy the moment. Don't forget to live now while you're preparing for the future. Looking back, that's what I would say - making sure you enjoy the moment.
02What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in healthcare today is the limited time physicians often have with patients. Many patients feel unheard or frustrated when visits are rushed and they do not have the opportunity to fully discuss their concerns or explore all available options. At the same time, this creates an incredible opportunity for models like concierge medicine and functional medicine, which allow physicians to spend more time with patients, focus on prevention, and create more personalized care plans. The integration of wellness coaching and innovative services gives us the ability to look at health more comprehensively and support patients in a way that goes beyond simply treating symptoms.
03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that guide me most are compassion, connection, and empowerment. I believe every patient deserves to feel heard, understood, and cared for as an individual—not just as a diagnosis. Providing time and attention to my patients is one of the most meaningful parts of my work because strong relationships are the foundation of effective care. Personally, I value balance, growth, and being present for the people and experiences that matter most. I believe you can pursue your professional goals while still creating a fulfilling life outside of your career.
