Tashana Robinson is a Scrum Master at Tezii Company, where she has spent the past three years leading Agile teams through sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and all Scrum ceremonies. Known for her servant-leadership approach, she focuses on aligning teams with sprint goals and the product vision while fostering autonomy, collaboration, and continuous improvement. With a strong foundation in both technical and people-focused leadership, she has increased team efficiency and velocity through process enhancements and effective stakeholder engagement. Her career began in software testing, progressing to Scrum lead roles in banking, followed by a transition into software engineering management. Tashana earned a Bachelor’s degree in Society and Advocacy from SUNY Empire State College, a software engineering degree, and her Scrum Master certification. This unique blend of technical training and emotional intelligence underpins her approach to coaching teams, emphasizing the Scrum values of commitment, courage, respect, openness, and focus. My advice to young women entering the tech industry is to protect the layers of who you are, make time for yourself and your creative pursuits, stay true to your core, and balance career hustle with personal wholeness.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest challenges in tech are the fast pace of change and organizational resistance, while AI and automation present major opportunities to elevate leadership and accelerate creative projects.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values most important to me in work and life are emotional intelligence, wholeness, and creativity, which I express through writing, visual art, poetry, and songwriting. I also prioritize the core Scrum principles—commitment, courage, respect, openness, and focus—while listening first to understand and support others..
