Her Interview
Ten minutes with Tatiana
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to a strong work ethic instilled by my family, especially my mom who never said no and taught that nothing is out of reach. If you fail multiple times, just keep striving and trying. Also being fearless about new opportunities or projects, no matter how daunting, by breaking them down into smaller tasks makes anything achievable.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would say just expose yourself to as many opportunities as you can. The best way of learning more about yourself and what you want is through experience, so be open-minded. Especially in payments, a niche field, give yourself the opportunity to understand what payments is and explore different career paths and alternatives within the field.
03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The challenge is knowing every aspect of the business with over 10,000 employees working on different products, understanding how everything feeds into overall objectives, where networking becomes really important. The opportunity is educating yourself around various products and delivery opportunities, staying on top of new features which opens doors to multiple opportunities within the company.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Honesty and transparency are very important, both personally and professionally. It's okay to say if you don't know something as long as you do the homework and research to figure it out. Communication is a very big part of my day-to-day, knowing how to communicate and adjust your narrative depending on who you're talking to, like engineers versus executives, without creating too much complexity.
