Her Story

About Tatiana

I've been in my field for about 5 years now. I graduated right after COVID, so it was a bit difficult to get into the advertising industry. I started out as a customer service representative, but I networked and knew a few connections, and I was able to land an assistant account executive role over at Markley & Partners, where I focused mainly on luxury automotive clients. A few months went by, and I really liked my position, but I wanted to get into pharmaceutical advertising. I felt it was a bigger, deeper purpose, you know, working with patients and alongside HCPs, healthcare providers, nurse practitioners, and patients. So I was able to land a role being an account executive at FCB Health New York. I worked there for just under 3 years, working on both HCP and DTC. I actually just started a new role yesterday as a Senior Account Executive at Avalere Health. My main area of expertise is DTC and patient services. In my role, I run weekly status calls with our client, being the main point of communication throughout all of our internal teams, working alongside directly with project management, copy, art, project delivery, and a few other fields. I'm basically the main liaison between our internal teams and with our client as well. I manage a lot of different budget expectations, and in advertising, that can be a little bit tricky, just to make sure that every dollar is getting spent correctly. I manage several projects at a time, anywhere from print, digital, social media, online videos, brochures, digital brochures, managing the project from the brief development all the way to MLR submissions and approvals of each project.

01What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Someone once told me a few years ago that change isn't always a bad thing, and I kind of just ignored that, and I didn't really think anything of it. And then when I got into my next role, I realized how powerful that statement really turned out to be, because things happen, especially in this industry. People are getting laid off constantly. A lot of people just get fired without warning. There's so much change happening in this industry. A lot of different companies just do mass layoffs, and they're not really expected. But that change sometimes pushes you in a direction to either apply for a job maybe you think you weren't qualified for, or really step outside of your comfort zone. So I had an experience a few years back where I had a really, really surprising change happen, and I was really nervous and scared at first, and it ended up being a really powerful move for me, career-wise, and I was able to excel and really go to that next position. So that really pushed me forward. I used to be scared of change, and I feel like a lot of people are, too.
