Her Interview
Ten minutes with Tatiana
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success mostly to perseverance and support from my family. I came to this country with no English and learned the language and culture. I always want to be better for myself and for my kids, to show them that anything is possible. As an immigrant, you begin from the bottom, and we have accomplished a lot including traveling the world with our family.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would tell young women to take advantage of the time and go to school. Education is really important. It is only a sacrifice for like 2, 4, 6 years and then after that you can have better opportunities for life. Education is the first base if you want to be somebody in life.
03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
I'm almost about to retire so I'm not planning on any change. I just continue to do the best I can in the position that I'm right now. Continue to learn because you learn every day something new. I'm really happy where I am.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
At work, confidentiality because that's my position, doing my best, trying to be professional. I always say yes unless I can't handle it. I'm always willing to do the extra. For home, the same: being positive, trying to do your best, always having the family united and keeping the communication open.
