Her Story
About Taylor
Taylor Misukonis is a Senior Brand & Digital Designer specializing in art direction, e-commerce strategy, and scalable digital brand systems within the fashion and footwear industry. With five years of professional experience, she began her career even before graduating from Lindenwood University and has since built a strong foundation in both creative execution and brand strategy. Starting as a Graphic Designer, she quickly advanced within Footwear Unlimited Inc., moving into The Frye Company brand within two years and growing into her current senior role, where she leads high-impact digital creative initiatives. Her experience spans a wide range of cross-functional projects within a privately owned organization, providing her with extensive exposure across the fashion and footwear industry beyond traditional design responsibilities. One of her most significant achievements includes leading a complete digital brand and e-commerce redesign for Frye, initiated in August of the previous year. This work focused on redefining how the brand communicates its premium positioning—honoring its heritage, vintage archive, and luxury craftsmanship, with footwear positioned around the $500 price point. Working from a limited historical framework and an underdeveloped brand direction, she helped establish a clear creative vision that aligned storytelling, product integrity, and performance. The results demonstrated measurable impact, with data reflecting increased engagement and revenue influence driven by the refreshed creative direction. In addition to her core design leadership, Taylor is actively involved in AI-driven creative development, utilizing tools such as Straight Lines AI to explore innovative image creation and scalable content workflows. Her contributions in this space have been recognized through published workflows and collaborative experimentation that bridge technology and design. Passionate about the future of digital brand building, she continues to explore how AI, systems thinking, and creative direction intersect to elevate storytelling and efficiency. Outside of her professional work, her special interests include travel experiences, exploring a multitude of creative outlets, and especially spending time with her family. She is currently focused on expanding into Art Director and Brand Design Lead roles, where she can further shape strategic visual direction and drive meaningful business impact through design.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Taylor
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to a combination of curiosity, adaptability, and a willingness to continuously learn. Throughout my career, I’ve consistently looked for ways to improve processes, embrace new technologies, and challenge myself beyond my job description. I believe strong results come from balancing creativity with strategic thinking, staying open to feedback, and maintaining a genuine desire to solve problems. Building strong relationships, collaborating across teams, and remaining resilient through change have also played a significant role in my growth and success.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve ever received is to focus on solving business problems, not just creating deliverables. Great design isn’t measured by how it looks alone—it’s measured by the impact it creates. That mindset has helped me think more strategically, communicate more effectively with cross-functional teams, and approach every project with both the customer and the business in mind.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering my industry is to trust your perspective and not wait until you feel completely ready before pursuing opportunities. Build a strong foundation in your craft, but also develop business, communication, and leadership skills. The most successful creatives are not only great designers—they understand strategy, can articulate their ideas, and know how to collaborate across teams. Stay curious, embrace new technologies, seek mentors, and remember that your unique point of view is one of your greatest strengths.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest opportunity in my field right now is the rapid evolution of creative technology, particularly AI and emerging digital tools. These technologies are allowing creative teams to work more efficiently, explore ideas faster, and unlock new forms of storytelling. The challenge is ensuring that innovation enhances creativity rather than replacing strategic thinking and human insight. The organizations and creatives who learn to balance technology, brand strategy, and authentic customer experiences will be best positioned for long-term success.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
I strive to approach both my work and personal life with a commitment to learning, creative problem solving, and meaningful connection. I believe growth comes from staying open to new ideas, embracing challenges, and remaining authentic to who you are. Whether I’m leading a project, collaborating with a team, or supporting friends and family, I aim to create a positive impact and leave things better than I found them.
