About Teara
Teara Harris serves as CEO and founder of Communities of Tomorrow, a nonprofit organization she launched in 2020. Based in LaGrange, Georgia, she leads efforts to revitalize her childhood neighborhood by developing net zero homes and affordable luxury housing for the missing middle. Her work includes helping residents access rebates through the Georgia Energy Finance Authority program for improvements such as HVAC systems and hot water tanks. Harris earned a bachelor's degree in fashion merchandising along with an associate's degree. She maintains active memberships in the Women Affordable Housing Network, WE OP, and RISE, drawing on these networks for support in her development projects.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Is this your passion? Is this something you want to do? Stick to what you believe in. Know what you want and write it down. Just because it's not working right now, it will work. If you keep at it, and keep thriving, keep pushing at it, then it'll happen for you.
