Her Story
About Teresa
Teresa Albert is an independent marketing research consultant and content creator with approximately 25 years of professional experience. She conducts online research projects for reputable marketing research companies, including testing apps and games, as well as in-person evaluations at local stores and restaurants. Over the past year, she has also expanded into content creation, bringing her diverse professional experiences and insights into her work.
Before establishing her independent career, Teresa built a versatile background across customer service, retail, office administration, bookkeeping, and the locksmith industry. During six years in the locksmith business, she progressed from office manager and bookkeeper to operating as a one-woman staff, developing hands-on mechanical skills such as re-keying locks, making keys, programming electronic keys and remotes, and managing day-to-day shop operations. She also gained valuable leadership experience by training and mentoring new employees, drawing on her ability to work with different personalities and create a supportive learning environment. Her professional development was further complemented by a Penn Foster correspondence course in child psychology, for which she earned a certificate of completion.
Teresa's career reflects adaptability, perseverance, and a willingness to pursue opportunities outside her comfort zone. Her path into independent marketing research required careful research and persistence as she learned to distinguish legitimate companies from scams before building a steady part-time income through reputable firms. She has also been inspired by women in leadership, including a former manager whose progression from employee to management demonstrated the possibilities available to women in the workplace. While continuing to pursue her independent career, Teresa is also navigating stage 4 uterine cancer, demonstrating remarkable resilience and determination as she continues to contribute professionally and explore new opportunities.

Ten minutes with Teresa
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my professional experience and willingness to learn. Working in the locksmith industry for six years, I grew from an office manager and bookkeeper into learning hands-on skills such as re-keying locks, making keys, and programming electronic keys and remotes.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
If this is something you truly want to pursue, be persistent, determined, and patient. Building something steady takes time, so keep working toward your goals, give it your best, and never give up.
03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
I value compassion, resilience, and supporting others. My experiences with cancer, including starting a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society, have taught me the importance of helping others and recognizing the strength and character people show during difficult times.
