Her Interview

Ten minutes with Teresa

01What do you attribute your success to?

A particular teacher I had in middle and high school who inspired me to become a teacher.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Do what you love and love what you do.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

They better love teaching and be very motivated to do it because it's hard work. Also be true to yourself, be strong on your own without depending on anyone except yourself and the Lord.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Biggest challenges are the amount of work teachers have and the pay. The rewards are insurmountable when you see what students achieve, even the smallest success is reward enough.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Honesty, hard work, and integrity.
