About Teresa
Teresa Feldman-White is a seasoned transportation professional with more than 30 years of experience spanning operations, supervision, management, and entrepreneurship. She currently serves as a Field Supervisor Rail Inspector with the MDOT-MTA Metro Division, where she oversees field operations and supports the safe and efficient performance of rail services. Her career in transportation began while she was working full-time as a phlebotomist and handling invoices part-time for a local bus company. Encouraged by a mentor, Teresa earned her CDL, advanced into operations management, and eventually launched her own bus company, securing transportation contracts before later transitioning into roles with Greyhound, cross-country trucking, and MTA.
Throughout her career, Teresa has demonstrated adaptability and a commitment to continuous growth. At MTA, she progressed from bus driver to train operator and ultimately into field supervision and rail inspection, building extensive experience leading teams, coordinating operations, and maintaining safety and quality standards. Beyond transportation, Teresa has spent approximately 30 years working as a barber and has also pursued her entrepreneurial interests through plans to launch Gigi's Kitchen, a food truck specializing in crab cakes and comfort food. Her diverse professional experiences reflect her willingness to learn, evolve, and pursue new opportunities.
Teresa is also committed to creating positive and inclusive work environments where employees feel valued and motivated. She believes that inclusion, equity, encouragement, and a positive workplace culture can contribute to stronger attendance, productivity, and morale. She credits dedication, lifelong learning, and staying current in her field as important factors in her success. Teresa holds an associate degree in business administration and is pursuing a Bachelor of Business Administration in Business Administration and Entrepreneurship, expected in 2028. At the center of her professional and personal life are three guiding values: God, family, and hard work.

01What do you attribute your success to?
Just the dedication and constant evolving, learning, constantly trying new things and staying abreast of what's current and what's going on in that industry.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Self-preservation was one from Mr. King who was my mentor. Stay in position, be ready to receive, and repetition. When I got my license he taught me the pre-trip and told me to just go home, go to sleep, and get up the next day and just do it. It'll stay with you.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
To work hard, study hard, self-preservation definitely the first law of the jungle, but remain consistent and humble. They'll make it, keep striving.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Starting a business requires many hours, can be hard to balance life and work. Opportunities include freedom to do what you want, you are your own boss and sky is the limit.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values most important to me are my faith in God, my family, and a strong commitment to hard work. These principles guide both my personal life and the way I approach my work.
