Teresa Strong-Myrick
Teresa Strong-Myrick is a Business Strategist and Certified Business Coach with ActionCOACH Tampa Bay, dedicated to empowering business owners to simplify, systemize, and succeed without losing themselves in the process. Based in the Greater Tampa Bay Area, Teresa works with business owners through one-to-one coaching, group programs, and immersive 12-week courses, helping them cut through chaos and build businesses that can thrive with or without their constant presence. Her work centers on creating clarity, structure, and sustainable growth rooted in measurable results. Blending neuro-transformational life coaching with proven business coaching frameworks, Teresa addresses both the internal and external drivers of success. She believes lasting business growth begins with inner alignment—healing, boundaries, identity, and self-leadership—paired with strong systems in strategy, sales, operations, leadership, and time management. Faith-informed and purpose-driven, her coaching emphasizes peace, joy, and intentional growth aligned with God’s purpose, allowing clients to build businesses that support their lives rather than consume them. Teresa’s career began in public safety and human services, including roles as a law enforcement officer, victim advocate with the State Attorney’s Office, and as a Child and Family Counselor with the State of Florida. These experiences shaped her trauma-informed, compassionate approach to coaching. She later founded her own life coaching practice, MyT Strong Network and became a certified Neuro-Transformational life coach. After a tumultuous 2020 she found that she had created a business totally dependent on her, which led her to pause her business and look for a team of coaches to join. She found ActionCOACH Tampa Bay, where she continues to speak, teach, coach, and lead at a high level. Teresa is also the author of Attacked in Anger, Died in Love and UnStrong: 6 Ways to Strengthen Your Self Love Muscle, two books focused on healing, self-love, and inner strength—core themes that continue to inform her work with individuals and business owners today.

What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to staying open to the wise counsel of those more experienced and being willing to be coached as a coach. I remain curious about new innovations and ways of thinking. I’m deeply committed to continually working on myself so that I can continue to evolve personally and professionally.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve ever received is that I am enough just as I am. Other people's opinion of me is not my business. I spent to many years playing small to make others feel more comfortable. Releasing that behavior has changed everything in my life.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering this industry is simple: do your work first. Take the time to understand yourself, your strengths, and your purpose before launching into coaching or entrepreneurship. Make sure your work is fueled by passion and purpose, not just by money. Don't strive for perfection, commit to being in action and failing fast. Use the fails as learning opportunities. You will get better and stronger every time your expectations are not met. It will force you to reexamine your strategy, pivot, alter or abandon what does not work.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in my field right now is standing out in a crowded coaching space, especially given the negative experiences some people have had with coaches in the past. At the same time, the rapid advancement of AI presents both challenges and opportunities, pushing us to adapt, innovate, and find new ways to provide personalized, meaningful guidance that technology alone cannot replace.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that guide me most in both my work and personal life are peace, joy, and living in alignment with my God-given purpose. They shape how I lead, serve, and make decisions, ensuring that everything I do is intentional and meaningful.
