What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to a steadfast determination to transform my life during challenging times, coupled with persistence and a genuine passion for my work. Throughout my journey, the support and encouragement of my family and colleagues have been invaluable, providing guidance, motivation, and inspiration. By staying focused on my goals, embracing opportunities for growth, and fostering strong relationships with those around me, I have been able to achieve milestones that once felt out of reach and continue to strive toward even greater accomplishments.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I just believe in yourself. You can do anything you put your mind to, and just have that confidence walking in. Even if it doesn't happen the first time, don't give up. I personally had to apply and interview 5 different times before I became a manager. I just had my heart set on coming to the newest, most advanced Macy's Fulfillment Center out there, and only being 4 months into the manager position to actually get the opportunity to go to the newest Macy's facility was just a dream come true. So don't give up on yourself. You know, sometimes it takes longer than you think.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The newness of advanced fulfillment-center operations, which brings a steep learning curve, the need to identify root causes and implement solutions, and the opportunity to scale and shape operations in a large, modern facility.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Integrity, transparency, and honesty are the values most important to me. People laugh at me because I'm so honest. If I make a mistake, I'm like, that was me, that was my fault, sorry. I believe that people trust you, but once you break that honesty, it's hard to get back. I'm also very passionate about what I do and passionate about my colleagues, the people that I'm entrusted with. I'm not there to be a hard boss. I'm there to make sure that we get a job done, but also have a heart and compassion to deal with the colleagues on a personal level.
