Her Story

About Teresa

Teresa Wynn is an accomplished radiologic technologist with nearly four decades of experience in diagnostic imaging and patient care. She currently serves as the Lead CT Technologist for Aylo Healthcare. Her career began through a high school work-study program in a radiology office, which inspired her to pursue a Diploma in Radiologic Technology from Griffin Technical College. Throughout her career, she has gained extensive expertise in X-ray, computed tomography (CT), ultrasound, nuclear medicine, interventional radiology, and cardiac catheterization procedures. Over the years, Teresa has built a diverse clinical background across trauma centers, rural hospitals, outpatient facilities, and academic medical centers. Her professional experience includes roles at Upson Regional Medical Center, The Medical Center of Central Georgia, Warm Springs Medical Center, Hughston Clinic, Emory University, and Wellstar, where she has performed advanced diagnostic and interventional imaging procedures while consistently prioritizing patient safety and quality care. Recognized for her technical proficiency and leadership, she is currently serving as president of the Georgia Society of Radiologic Technologists, contributed to the American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT)Scanner Editorial Board, and previously led the Atlanta chapter of the Association for Vascular Interventional Radiographers (AVIR). Beyond her clinical accomplishments, Teresa is deeply committed to compassionate, patient-centered care and believes every patient should be treated with the same kindness and respect she would want for her own family. She regularly shares this philosophy through professional lectures for the Georgia Society of Radiologic Technologists. Guided by her faith and personal belief that "life is short—make the most of every day," Teresa continues to inspire colleagues and patients alike while pursuing a bachelor's degree with the goal of teaching the next generation of radiologic technologists after retirement.

I attribute my success to genuinely loving what I do and committing myself to lifelong learning. My passion for my work keeps me motivated, while my dedication to continuous growth allows me to adapt, improve, and create meaningful impact throughout my career.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve ever received is to always ask questions and never be afraid to step in and try new things. Curiosity and a willingness to embrace new experiences have been essential to my personal and professional growth.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering this industry is to never be afraid to ask questions and communicate openly with others. Seeking guidance, sharing ideas, and building strong relationships are key to learning, growing, and succeeding in your career.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in my field is keeping up with rapidly changing technologies while managing unpredictable work hours. As technology continues to evolve, technologists must continuously adapt, learn new skills, and handle increasing workloads to provide the best possible service.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Integrity, honesty, and kindness are the values that guide both my work and personal life. They shape how I treat others and the care I provide every day. I chose this profession because, as a child, I had an experience with a technologist who was rough with me, and it inspired me to ensure that every patient I care for is treated with compassion, respect, and empathy.
