About Teresita

Teresita Carrasco is a pharmaceutical laboratory professional with nearly 17 years of experience in the industry since starting in 2010. She currently serves as a laboratory coordinator and stability coordinator at her company. Her career began with washing glassware and expanded to include learning all facets of manufacturing and GMP documentation, managing the raw material stability process, purchasing, lab organization, coordinating lab assets, instrument calibrations, and assisting laboratory management. She has spent approximately 15 years in drug pharmaceuticals and the past two years specializing in animal pharmaceuticals. Carrasco holds a high school diploma and began but did not complete a Master of Business Administration due to personal issues; she attributes her professional development to a strong will to learn and self-educate in order to perform at the level of her degreed colleagues.

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to bringing my own values as a person and professional, but also the people that I'm surrounded with - good management, good director. Surround yourself with like people. The company allows your growth and there's trust. You have to prove your value and that's where your growth and success comes in.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Always do your best. Just always do your best.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Don't give up when the day is hard. Stay true to yourself, accept changes that come your way. Not all personalities are gonna be compliant but not to give up. Learn as much as you can and listen.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Opportunities are ways to improve a process. There's always room for improvement. Challenges are they're not always gonna come easy, not always gonna be instant. Just take one thing at a time, one task at a time.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Treat purchasing and expenses like my own money. Be conscientious about costs. Follow GMP - Good Manufacturing Practices, always be audit ready, no shortcuts. Quality is a priority.
