Teresita Rada is a dedicated educator with over 20 years of experience teaching, building education program, and developing learning techniques to reach all students. A graduate of the University of Puerto Rico, where she earned her BA in Education with Magna Cum Laude honors, Teresita brings a student-centered approach to every learning environment she supports. Her passion lies in nurturing young minds and instilling the value of lifelong learning through engaging, creative instruction.
Teresita Rada was recognized as Florida Department of Correction Teacher of The Year 2022-2023 for the Department of Education in Florida.

Teresita specializes in integrating core academic content with art, crafts, music, and technology, making learning both accessible and exciting for her students. She is skilled at adapting teaching techniques to meet students where they are, addressing learning gaps while also aligning with grade-level expectations. Her innovative style fosters a classroom environment that encourages curiosity, inclusivity, and confidence.
2019-2025 Teresita was Academic Teacher & Technology Teacher on Everglade Correctional Institute. Oversaw the education of 70+ adult students. Support technology in the education department via laptops, desktops, and other hardware. Develop level-appropriate curricula for adult students with TABE and Casas.

2019 to present Miami-Dade Public Library System, tutoring students K-3 grades. Work reading, completing assignments, work vocabulary, and preparing for tests they'll be taking during the week. Work with student's son ESL.

2018-2019 Comprehensive Health Services, Education Instructor taught ESL, English vocabulary, Vocational instruction, art therapy, and critical and life skills using a variety of technological resource in the classroom. Worked with immigrant adolescent groups between the ages of 13 and 17. Lead scenography design for talent shows and special events.

With previous experience as a Religious Teacher at Colegio Sagrada Familia in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Teresita also brings a strong moral foundation and cultural sensitivity to her work. Whether supporting students academically or emotionally, she is committed to helping each child grow into their fullest potential. Her leadership, creativity, and compassionate approach continue to leave a lasting impact on the lives of the students and families she serves.

200-2018 Led mosaic art classes for the Museo de Arte de Puerto Rico. Led Mosaic Art classes for teenagers 16+ and adults.

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to my commitment to personal growth and lifelong learning. One of my most meaningful professional milestones will be completing my master’s degree—a goal I’ve worked toward with dedication and pride. It represents not just academic achievement, but the continued passion I have for evolving in my career and making a lasting impact.

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to a young woman coming to the U.S. and pursuing success is to **keep learning, keep growing, and never stop chasing your dreams**. Stay open to new experiences, believe in your potential, and let every challenge become an opportunity to rise. Your determination and resilience will take you further than you imagine.

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values most important to me in both my work and personal life are **family, balance, and joy**. I believe in working with purpose while also making time to enjoy life’s simple pleasures—whether that’s relaxing at the beach, exploring new places through travel, or spending quality time with my grandchildren. These moments keep me grounded and remind me of what truly matters.
