Her experience in education and her travel around the world have complemented her work in travel by strengthening her understanding of the world, as well as communication, organization, training, and relationship-building skills. Teri’s journey is also defined by resilience, family, and a desire to continue making a difference. She is especially proud of her years teaching first grade, where she helped students make significant progress in reading and incorporated creative activities, including plays and Bible stories, into the classroom. After experiencing serious complications following knee replacement surgery and subsequent procedures, Teri adapted to new physical limitations while continuing to support her travel business and its consultants. With her husband and family by her side, she continues to apply her experience, determination, and caring nature to serving clients and supporting others in their own journeys.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Teri
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to resilience, dedication, and faith. After 40 years in education across public, Christian, church, and online settings, I embraced a new venture as a travel agency franchise owner while navigating a disability. I am especially proud of my three successful children and three beautiful granddaughters, and of the nine years I spent teaching first graders and watching them grow academically and personally. My advice to young women is simple: don’t give up, trust in God, and remember it'll be okay in the end. If it's not okay, it's not the end!
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women is to never give up. You may face unfair treatment or difficult battles, but trust in God and keep moving forward. If you are doing the right thing, stay strong, be patient, and remember that if things are not okay yet, it is not the end.
