Teri Moreno, CZS
Teri Moreno, CZS, is a seasoned Foreign Trade Zone and Trade Compliance Coordinator at Bechtel Corporation, bringing over eight years of specialized experience in the field. She began her career in account management after starting as a receptionist, quickly discovering her aptitude for foreign trade zones. Since then, Teri has built deep expertise in import classifications, CBP compliance, and regulatory documentation, serving as the importer of record for complex projects such as the LALNG initiative. Her dedication to accuracy and compliance ensures that all aspects of foreign trade zones operate smoothly and efficiently.
Before joining Bechtel in April 2025, Teri served as Director of Foreign Trade Zones at her previous company for seven years, where she managed comprehensive FTZ operations, coordinated with government agencies, and established strong professional networks within the industry. She is a Certified Zone Specialist and is receiving her Accredited Zone Specialist recognition, reflecting her commitment to professional growth and excellence in trade compliance. Beyond her day-to-day responsibilities, Teri advocates for foreign trade zones by speaking at industry panels and engaging with legislators in Washington, D.C., to promote awareness and transparency in trade policy.
Teri’s career is built on a philosophy of dedication, precision, and continuous learning. In addition to her professional accomplishments, she brings a strong sense of community through volunteer leadership roles in military and nonprofit organizations, including battalion-level treasury and outreach positions. She attributes much of her growth to mentors like Catherine James, who have guided her through the complexities of the trade industry. Passionate about the benefits of foreign trade zones and committed to advancing industry knowledge, Teri continues to shape the field with expertise, leadership, and advocacy.
