Terri Cascia, MHA, BSIT, is an accomplished healthcare operations leader with over 25 years of experience spanning clinical practice, healthcare IT, and executive management. Beginning her career as a medical assistant, she quickly rose through the ranks, serving as a National Manager of Clinical Informatics before assuming her current role as Associate Director of Operations at Tenet Healthcare. In this capacity, Terri oversees 10 ambulatory practices, managing financial performance, quality initiatives, staff development, and operational excellence. She combines deep clinical knowledge with a strong focus on ethical leadership, strategic planning, and team optimization. Terri holds a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology and a Master’s in Healthcare Administration from the University of Phoenix, where she focused on ethical and authentic leadership, policy development, and cultivating organizational alliances. She has also earned an Executive Leadership Certificate through the National Honors Society of Leadership and Success and completed advanced leadership training. Her expertise spans multi-site operations, workflow redesign, KPI management, and the integration of healthcare technology, enabling her to drive growth and efficiency across complex healthcare networks. Beyond her professional achievements, Terri is committed to giving back to her community, as she volunteers with organizations that train and certify service dogs, supports the Ronald McDonald House and veteran-focused charities, and mentors colleagues to strengthen leadership across the healthcare industry. I attribute my success to my education and the motivation and support I receive from my family as well as my professional mentors.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve ever received is that you’re never too old to finish your education, and if you aspire to be a leader, you need to get in the trenches and truly understand what everyone is experiencing—because you can’t help others grow unless you know where they’re coming from.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would tell young women entering this industry that while it can be challenging as a female, it’s not impossible—keep going and remember that success doesn’t have to mean being a CEO; you can thrive while maintaining a healthy life balance.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in my field right now is staffing—retaining skilled employees while offering competitive compensation.
