About Terri
Terri Jones is an IT professional with four decades of experience currently working at Florida Blue in Jacksonville, Florida. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and has obtained certifications in AI while contributing to the development of skills for Amazon Echo devices. Outside her primary role, Jones has written and published 20 books and developed the Can I Have Some Money? Mama curriculum focused on financial literacy for youth. She also teaches book publishing, digital marketing, Canva, and AI skills through boot camps and programs that help young people build resumes and promotional materials. Jones is actively engaged in her community through youth ministry at her church, the Big Brothers Big Sisters organization, Daniel Kids reading programs, and Women AIDS initiatives where she spent 20 years reading to children, supplying books, and providing support. She attributes her creativity and accomplishments to her relationship with Christ and values family, regular exercise, healthy eating, and mental health in both her work and personal life.

01What do you attribute your success to?
My relationship with God is the root of everything. He's the creator of all things, and I'm connected with the creator, so that's how I get all my creativity. Everything that I am able to do, I attribute it to my relationship with Christ because I believe that I was put on this earth to do all of those really cool things and help people wherever I can.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Know what you're good at. Take the job that you have and see how it intertwines with what you're really good at. Get the best out of it and don't whine and complain. Stay motivated because you don't know the route, and you have to start somewhere.
03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Family is important to me. Exercising and eating right for health. Mental health is very important because it determines whether or not you will succeed. You can't pour from an empty cup.
