Her Story

About Terri

Terri Nicole Singleton is an educator, voice actor, and entrepreneur whose career bridges the worlds of education, technology, and creative performance. As Chief Consultant and Talent at Terry Nicole Productions, a business she founded in 2015, she provides educational consulting, voiceover services, and STEM program development, drawing on more than two decades of experience in classrooms and boardrooms alike. Her path into education began as a teacher and actor in school residency programs, where she performed and taught in hundreds of classrooms, an experience that convinced her every student has the capacity to learn and grow regardless of circumstance.

Singleton's academic foundation includes an undergraduate degree in comparative literature from Columbia University, a master's degree in elementary education from John Carroll University, and graduate study in technology, innovation, and education at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. She has carried that interdisciplinary training into a career that spans curriculum design, corporate facilitation, and youth robotics leadership. Through her work founding and mentoring the Byte Bombers LEGO Robotics Team, she has helped close gaps in STEM access for underrepresented students in Cobb County, earning early competitive honors including a Core Values Award at regionals.

Guided by a belief in community, joy, partnership, and removing barriers to opportunity, Singleton continues to expand her influence across education, technology, and the performing arts. She is a member of the National Society of Black Engineers and remains active in youth mentorship through organizations like FIRST LEGO League. In recognition of her cross-sector impact, she was selected as one of Influential Women's honorees representing Atlanta, Georgia for 2026 — a distinction that reflects her ongoing commitment to building opportunities where none previously existed.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Terri

01What do you attribute your success to?

I owe my success to my family, especially my mother, who instilled in me the value of education from an early age. I've also built my path by challenging conventional thinking, interrogating my own beliefs, and staying willing to face fear head-on rather than let it hold me back.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

A mentor once told me to pursue recognition and, in her words, to "sing my own praises." That advice pushed me to seek validation for the layered, multifaceted work I do across different fields.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I'd tell them they don't have to follow a path that's already been laid out for them. Take the time to figure out who you really are and what lights you up, explore every side of yourself, and build a life that reflects that. Keep expanding — never stop.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The biggest challenge I see is learning to ethically harness AI. I don't believe in avoiding it — instead, I'm focused on finding creative, responsible ways to use it well.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Community and joy matter enormously to me, as does partnership. Financial soundness and having a strong team around me are essential, and above all, I care deeply about helping people who face barriers to access and opportunity.
