A strong advocate for community engagement, she believes that education is most powerful when schools, families, and communities work together toward a shared vision. Outside of work, Terri enjoys playing tennis, cooking healthy meals, and spending time with family and friends. Ten minutes with Terri

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to the passion of seeing people grow and making a difference in a child's life. I have an all-women's team and I empower them by listening to their ideas and letting them own their work, which helps them flourish and excel.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My motto is always lead in the space in which you're given the opportunity to excel. Don't be afraid to be a voice or an uncommon feature in that space. Use your passion to help you grow. If you work within your passion, the money will come. Be smart about who you connect with and don't be afraid to say you don't know something in order to learn from others. A best leader is a leader that listens and is willing to continuously learn from the people that they're leading.
