Ten minutes with Terri
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success first and foremost to the Lord. My faith, hope, and trust in Him guide the way I live, work, and make decisions. I seek His wisdom, follow the direction He places before me, and trust Him to guide my steps, even when I cannot see the entire path ahead. My goal is to glorify Him through my work and the way I serve others. I believe that maintaining this trust and remaining attentive to His guidance have been central to my personal and professional journey.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I would give is to remain consistent, continue learning, and never lose hope. Growth requires persistence, a willingness to learn, and the ability to keep moving forward through difficult seasons. I believe our challenges can become part of our testimony and help us encourage others. We cannot have a message without our mess, and we cannot have a testimony without our test. Our experiences, including the difficult ones, can shape our wisdom and prepare us to serve others more effectively.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I encourage young women to find someone they can learn from and model their professional and personal growth after. Seek a mentor who can provide wise, God-centered guidance, offer honest counsel, and walk alongside you as you navigate your career. Build a supportive community and surround yourself with people who encourage your development and hold you accountable to your values.
I also believe it is important to remember that we do not have to possess every skill or have everything figured out before answering a calling. God equips us as we move forward in faith and obedience. Stay open to learning, trust the process, and allow your experiences to prepare you for the work you are called to do.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in coaching and consulting is generating consistent leads and connecting with the right clients. Another challenge is navigating the many systems, processes, operating procedures, frameworks, and tools available to organizations today. With so many options, it can be difficult to determine which approaches are best suited to a particular business, industry, or set of needs.
At the same time, these challenges create opportunities to help individuals and organizations gain clarity, identify what works best for them, and implement more effective approaches. My experience in leadership, project management, organizational transformation, and coaching allows me to help people navigate complexity, make thoughtful decisions, and move forward with greater purpose and direction.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Faith is my most important value. For me, faith means trusting God, seeking His wisdom, and allowing biblical principles to guide my decisions, relationships, and sense of purpose.
Integrity is equally important. I strive to live according to my convictions, be honest, keep my commitments, and do what is right even when it is difficult. Authenticity also matters deeply to me. I believe in being genuine, embracing my experiences, and sharing them honestly rather than feeling that I must present a perfect image. These values shape how I lead, how I serve others, and how I approach this new expression of leadership and service after more than 40 years of professional experience.
