I am a family practice physician who opened my menopause wellness practice, 1988 Wellness, with my first patients in August of 2025. Initially operating as telehealth only, I recently expanded to also see patients in person at my office in Elm Grove, Wisconsin. I see women for cardio, metabolic, and hormonal health issues that become really important in midlife. I want them to live very healthy, mobile, independent futures, and that's what we work towards. My approach is very tailored to each individual woman, as it should be. Some women don't want anything to do with medications or MHT, and that's fine - we talk about all the foundational lifestyle things. Then I have some women who really are coming to me for MHT, and then I have others who are concentrating more on the weight aspect. I run a concierge-style practice where my patients are members with a yearly membership, because I really feel like we can get somewhere then. Once they are a member, they just have access to me. I have patients that make 2 appointments, and then I have patients that I see every couple weeks. This really is primary care, and I've been trying to talk to family practice conferences about coming to speak, because eventually this is what they need to be teaching.
