Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to the public speaking and interpersonal skills I learned from my father, as well as the insights gained through my experience in business consulting. These experiences have shaped my approach as a registered women-owned small business entrepreneur, helping me stay focused on my goals and manage distractions effectively by evaluating whether each activity aligns with my priorities.

I earned my MBA in Marketing and Strategy from Fordham University’s Gabelli School of Business and hold a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing from Syracuse University’s Martin J. Whitman School of Management.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career guidance I’ve embraced is to prioritize personal growth, authenticity, and confidence in every step of my journey. Embracing my own strengths and trusting my vision has allowed me to evolve professionally, take on leadership roles, and create meaningful experiences for others. I’ve learned that investing in yourself is foundational to creating opportunities and making a lasting impact.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering this industry is to prioritize education and cultivate self-awareness. It’s important to understand the products and tools you work with, recognize your own strengths, and shape your personal narrative before taking steps toward independence.

I also recommend focusing on personal branding and making a strong first impression, whether at events or in professional settings. Simple strategies—like wearing conversation-starting accessories or carrying unique items such as notebooks with motivational messages—can help you stand out. Additionally, I encourage getting involved in meaningful causes and nonprofits, such as Spoil Me Pink and the Center for Hope and Safety, as these experiences enrich both your professional growth and personal development.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The event production industry offers tremendous opportunities to connect, inspire, and empower audiences, particularly through female- and community-focused experiences. One of the biggest opportunities lies in reimagining traditional events and integrating personal growth and authenticity into every experience. At the same time, navigating the shift from behind-the-scenes work to leading high-impact events presents both challenges and growth opportunities, requiring adaptability, creativity, and a clear focus on creating meaningful connections for attendees.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values I hold most important in both my work and personal life are authenticity, presence, and self-acceptance. I believe in embracing one’s unique journey and learning to love oneself at every stage of life. Personal experiences, including navigating breast cancer, have taught me the importance of being fully present in both joyful and challenging moments—a lesson I carry with guidance from my father and my son, often reminding myself that “this too shall pass.”

I also place a high value on aligning passion with purpose and practical goals. Pivoting from a mission-driven project to a successful business, such as my podcast Divorce ETC and EXEXPERTS.com, reinforced the importance of understanding one’s skills, resources, and passions before making a strategic move. I’ve learned that true success often requires balancing mission with financial sustainability while remaining true to your values and vision.
